Progressive Group Task (PGT)

Cross the obstacles together, by the rules

The PGT is a series of increasingly hard obstacles the whole group must cross, carrying a load, using helping material (planks, ballis, rope) — without touching the out-of-bounds 'enemy area' or breaking the rules. It's the GTO's clearest view of how you behave in a working team.

Know the rules cold

Watch out

Breaking a rule isn't just a reset — how you react to the reset is being watched. Stay positive and re-plan; don't sulk or blame.

Give ideas and help execute

You score by contributing usable ideas, helping others physically, and keeping the group moving — not by doing everything yourself or shouting over others. A good idea offered clearly and then executed as a team is the sweet spot.

Balance leading and following

Sometimes your idea wins and you lead it. Often someone else's is better — back it wholeheartedly and help. Both are officer-like. Quietly stepping in to steady a balli for a teammate counts as much as the clever idea.
